Day
28: Create
Your Dream Board.
You can do this by yourself or
you can do it with friends or family.
It is a lot of fun with a group of people and you may discover new
things about each other.
Buy a poster board, grab all those old magazines, pictures, scissors and a
glue stick.
Travel magazines, catalogs and
home design magazines are great for this.
Think about the things you want in your life. Where do you want to live, where do you want to vacation, who
are the people you want around you? What
kind of car do you want to drive? Do
you want a boat? A private
jet? A housekeeper?
Go through the magazines and find pictures that represent what you want in
your life. (My dream board has several pictures of Tony Bennett on there
and lots of pictures of white sand beaches.)
Arrange the pictures any which way you want and glue them to the
poster board. Some people
work outward from the center – they choose what they want to center
their life around (family, God, career, fun) and work outward from that.
Others go with a linear logic, almost creating a story board.
And others do a mish-mash collage of pictures, overlapping and
mixing in different things. There is no wrong way to do this. Unless you SuperGlue your fingers to the table.
That would be wrong.
Then hang your dream board where
you can see it every day. This
will be a constant reminder of how you want your life to be. Putting that life in front of you visually, on a daily basis
will help you stay on track to living a life you love.
